Reading a scan
- Score
The sum of the weights of every check that fired on a token, capped at 100.
A count of observed patterns, not a probability and not a safety rating. A low score means the scan saw little of what it looks for; it does not clear a token.
- Band
The score range a token falls in: Low 0–19, Moderate 20–39, Risky 40–64, High 65–100.
- Flag
One check that fired, with the observation behind it and the weight it added.
Read the flags before the number: two tokens with the same score can have very different reasons.
- Weight
How many points a flag adds to the score. Checks with two thresholds have two weights.
- Evidence strength
How directly a flag rests on chain records: Strong, Moderate or Weak, or Unavailable when a check could not run.
- Observed
Read directly from the chain at scan time: a transfer, balance, swap or contract event.
- Inferred
A hypothesis drawn from observations, with its reasoning and other explanations. Shared funding does not prove common control.
- Data completeness
The share of a scan’s inputs that were read in full. Missing inputs widen the score’s range, mostly upward.
- Snapshot
A scan describes the chain at the block it ran. Balances, liquidity and permissions can change right after.
- Scanned
The word Cyclops uses for a token it has read. A token is scanned, never cleared.
Wallets and funding
- Cluster
Wallets linked by a shared funder, transfers between them, or buying in the same transaction.
A cluster holding a large share can move the price as one. A cluster is a set of links, not a statement about who controls the wallets.
- Linked wallets
Wallets tied to the creator by funding or transfers. Reported as their share of supply.
- Funder
The address a wallet first received ETH from.
- Hub
An exchange, bridge or router that funds many unrelated wallets. Funding through a hub never links wallets on its own.
- Fresh wallet
A wallet with almost no on-chain history before it bought.
- Sniper
A wallet that bought in the first seconds after the pool opened.
- Launch bundle
Supply bought in the launch block(s) by wallets sharing a funder or a block.
Timing alone does not prove a private bundle was submitted; that needs a relay or transaction source.
- Funding trail
The chain of first-funding transactions behind a wallet, followed back hop by hop until it reaches a hub.
- Sybil wallets
Wallets funded alike by one source or airdropped in bulk.
- Gassed together
Wallets that got their first ETH from one source within two blocks.
- Wash trading
Volume that went round-trip in repeated buy-and-sell pairs, or tokens passed back and forth between two wallets.
Launches and outcomes
- Creator
The wallet that deployed a token through the launchpad.
- Outcome
What happened to a launch by fixed rules on its price and the creator wallet’s balance. Not a finding of intent.
- Creator sold out
The price fell 80% or more from its peak while the creator wallet sold.
- Collapsed
The price fell 90% or more from its peak.
- Went quiet
No trades for three days.
- Still trading
None of the other outcomes applies; trading continues.
- Off-market transfer
Tokens the creator sent to another wallet without a trade.
- Repeat early buyer
An early buyer who was also a first-minute buyer in the same creator’s earlier launches.
- Serial launches
Three or more other tokens from the same creator in the last 14 days.
- Copycat
An earlier token launched with the same name or ticker.
- Lookalike characters
A name or ticker written with characters from another script that read as an earlier token’s name.
- Torch
The launchpad on Robinhood Chain whose launches Cyclops indexes.
Contracts and liquidity
- Liquidity
The value in the token’s pool at scan time. A dollar figure is not a promise that a sale executes at that value.
- Liquidity lock
A pool position held by a known locker contract until an unlock time. One check, not a guarantee of anything else.
- Sell simulation
A sale simulated along one route at the moment of the scan. Passing once does not mean a sale will go through later.
- Trade tax
The share of each buy or sell taken by the token or launchpad contract.
- Upgradeable proxy
A contract whose code can be replaced by an admin. Cyclops reads the proxy slots and says who the admin is and whether a timelock applies.
- Template deviation
Bytecode that differs from the launchpad’s standard token template, with the instructions added and removed.
- Exit curve
What selling a group’s tokens into the pool would return and do to price, step by step.
Proof and record
- Scan receipt
A signature over the scan’s hash, so anyone can check a scan was not changed after it was published.
- Scan hash
The SHA-256 of the scan’s canonical JSON (keys sorted, no whitespace). A browser can recompute it.
- Score version
The version of the method a scan used. Changes are published in the score changelog.
- Calibration
How often launches in each band went on to collapse or sell out, measured on the record.
- Ground truth
Launches labelled after the fact, by rule and by a person, used to measure each flag’s precision and recall.
- Precision
Of the launches a flag fired on, the share that were labelled bad.
- Recall
Of the launches labelled bad, the share the flag fired on.
- Cyclops Eyes
Paid review of the record: approved reports, labels and bug finds earn rewards from the disclosed Rewards wallet. Holding earns nothing.
- Correction
A request to fix a label, a flag or a page. Acknowledged within 48 hours, decided within 7 days.
Where these
come from.
Definitions follow the published methodology and change with it. If a definition and a scan disagree, the scan’s score version decides; tell us through corrections.
